Madam Khanh The Banh Mi Queen in Hoi An is loved by many foreign tourists, often called Madam Khanh’s Banh Mi or the Banh Mi Queen. With nearly 35 years of history, it has served thousands of tourists from around the world.
In the early days, the shop was just a simple cart, but thanks to the owner’s love for banh mi, Madam Khanh’s Banh Mi has created many unique and unforgettable flavors. Interestingly, few people know that the owner’s real name is Loc, while Khanh is the name of her husband.
Three generations of families have enjoyed their bread. To ensure the bread is delicious, the family gets up early every day to prepare all the ingredients. Mrs Loc, the owner passed away in 2021, but the family members continue the business and pass it on to future generations.

Madam Khanh’s Banh Mi is favored by all kinds of tourists because of its variety of fillings and unique flavors. Each bite offers a new and exciting taste experience. The menu has only 5 simple items, but they are delicious and well-balanced, pleasing everyone who tries them.
- Mixed Banh Mi (Bánh Mì Thập Cẩm): The traditional with pork and paté might be my favorite banh mi in Vietnam. The chili sauce is fantastic, and I always go for the spicy option.
- Vegetarian Banh Mi (Bánh Mì Chay): The vegetarian banh mi is also wonderful and rivals the meat version. You will find it’s the best vegetarian version you’ve tried.
- Pork and Ham Banh Mi (Bánh Mì Heo Quay): the ingredients are Banh Mi with ham, BBQ pork, vegetables, pate, papaya, and cucumbers.
- Chicken Banh Mi (Bánh Mì Gà): bread with vegetables, chicken pieces, and some pork paté, papaya, and cucumbers.
