Phong Nha Cave & Dark Cave Tour Details
In the morning
You will explore Phong Nha Cave first in Phong Nha Cave and Dark Cave 1 day tour. We will take a boat ride along the beautiful Son River to enter Phong Nha cave. After about 25 minutes by boat, you will reach Phong Nha cave and take a few hours to visit the cave.
Phong Nha cave is one of the most stunning caves of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, with 7 outstanding global criteria. For example, the cave has the longest underground river with a total length of more than 13 km. Plus, the longest wet cave, the cave with a high and large dry cave, etc.

After millions of years of tectonics, the limestone blocks were penetrated by rainwater and flowed down, creating unique stalactites. Some interesting shapes you can see like lions, Buddha statues, etc.
At noon: After exploring Phong Nha cave, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In The Afternoon
After lunch and a short break time, we will set off to continue the journey to explore Dark Cave. First, you will be staffed with protective gear and a hat with a lamp. After that, you must watch a video about the journey to explore the dark cave before officially exploring the cave.
Next, you’ll experience an exhilarating zipline ride across the Chay River to reach the Dark Cave. It is wonderful to zipline in the air while enjoying the panoramic view of Chay River in beautiful jade green water.
When you reach the dark cave area, you can choose to cool off by swimming refreshingly in the river’s clear water. Especially, the temperature of the river water is only 16-20 degrees, so it is very cool. Another option is to take a short walk to the cave entrance.
Let’s enter the mysterious Dark Cave and prepare for an exciting experience. Armed with a searchlight, you’ll venture deep into the cave. At the meeting point inside the cave, you will take off your life jacket to continue the journey to conquer the enigmatic Dark cave.
True to its name, the Dark cave is mainly black basalt, so the space inside is very dark. The distance near the cave entrance will have a small sand and rock beach. The stalactites above the cave are also stunning.
Going deep inside will be a rather narrow path of only about 1m and quite slippery. Therefore, you must move slowly to ensure safety. After walking for a while in the cave, you will reach the back end of the cave for a mud bath.
When you enter the mud bath, you should also move carefully because there are rocks underneath. Many visitors love mud baths here because this is natural mud that is good for the skin.
Remarkably, when you apply mud all over your body, your whole body will automatically float like the water in the Dead Sea. This will definitely be an interesting experience that you will not forget.
After walking out of the Dark cave, you will continue to explore nature’s beauty by kayak. It’s wonderful when you can kayak by yourself and swim in the jade-like waters of the Chay river.
After all, we will drive you back to your accommodation in Phong Nha town or Dong Hoi city. Your Phong Nha Cave and Dark Cave Tour 1 day end! Vietnam Vacation Travel wishes you memorable memories at Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park with us!
